RiverCross Onyx

Onyx is an elegant and refined hunter with a kind and willing work ethic.  During his career in the Pre-Green and combined hunters he turned heads, becoming champion or reserve every time out. His first foray in the Hunter Derby ring he proved himself in this special niche and his willingness, light scope and courage rendered a victory over his competitors in the national finals. 

In the inaugural Finals of the Canadian Derby series, at The Royal Winter Fair, Onyx won his class again against horses from across Canada. He shines in this exciting discipline which has gained energy and respect around the North American continent. More recently he has excelled with top placings in the high performance hunters and derbies at WEF.

Onyx' dam, Grand Design, was imported from Germany and had a very successful show career in the hunter ring. His sire, Orame, by Indoctro, was the three year old champion of the KWPN stallion Show and Champion of the Stallion test in his year. Orame was a sensation in the international 6 bar competitions in Europe, jumping up to 2m10.
